Modified or Customized:

The insurance companies that are represented on this site will not accept a vehicle that has customization in excess of $2000. If the vehicle is deemed acceptable, customization or modifications will not be covered. By definition, modified or customized vehicles include but are not limited to: any modifications to the suspension, including but not limited to lift kits, non-factory paint, graphics, decals, lettering, pinstriping, windows, moon/sunroofs, scoops, carpeting, upholstery, exhaust systems, and interior or exterior lights. Any alteration of the factory condition of the engine, passenger or cargo compartment, exterior of the vehicle, or any equipment designed to alter a vehicle so that it might serve a purpose other than or in addition to the transportation of passengers.

 

Salvaged Vehicles:

The state department of motor vehicles (DMV) may indicate on your title or registration that a vehicle is salvaged. A salvaged vehicle is generally a vehicle totaled in an accident and then repaired. A salvaged vehicle would be unacceptable for physical damage coverage. The vehicle would be insurable for liability coverage only if the vehicle was safe to drive.

 

Vehicles with Damage:

For liability, vehicles with damage are acceptable only if there is only minor damage, if the vehicle is in safe condition. For physical damage, vehicles with damage are acceptable if only minor damage subject to verification. The company defines minor damage as that the repair cost does not exceed $1,000, does not make the vehicle illegal to operate, or does not pose a safety hazard. If damage is $1000 or more, no physical damage coverage may be written.

The 5 digit postal zip code of your garaging address or where the vehicle is kept overnight. The zip code used can not be your P.O. Box zip code.

 

Number of Vehicles:

Number of Drivers:

SR-22 filing:

Commonly know as financial responsibility. If you’ve been convicted of a Driving While Intoxicated, had an uninsured accident, or have several unpaid tickets or other major violations, a judge may order you to file an SR-22. An Sr-22 filing is a certificate from your insurance company that proves to the department of motor vehicles that you have insurance coverage in effect. If you let your auto insurance cancel, the state will be notified and could suspend your driving privileges.

Bodily Injury Coverage

Pays medical costs of others and your legal defense if your car injures or kills someone. This coverage consists of two values or limits (example: 15,000 / 30,000), the first value or limit is the maximum the insurance company will pay for each person injured. The second value or limit is the maximum that the insurance company will pay for the total accident.



Property Damage Coverage

This insurance covers property damage to other parties property damaged or destroyed in a car accident. Property damage means damage to or destruction of physical property, including the loss of use of that property. This coverage consists of a single value or limit (example: 10,000), which is the maximum that will be paid by the insurance company for any one accident.



Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage

This coverage will pay for damages you’re legally entitled to receive from the owner or operator of an uninsured or underinsured motor vehicle because of bodily injury. This is an optional coverage, however insurance companies are required to offer the coverage and a waiver must be signed to reject the coverage. This coverage consists of two values or limits (example: 15,000 / 30,000), the first value or limit is the maximum the insurance company will pay for each person injured. The second value or limit is the maximum that the insurance company will pay for the total accident.



Supplementary Uninsured Motorist (SUM) - NY only:

Supplementary Uninsured Motorists Coverage, also known as SUM, is an optional coverage that provides increased limits of Uninsured Motorists Coverage, up to the Bodily Injury liability limit on your policy. It also extends coverage for injuries that result from an accident with another vehicle that has insurance, but whose Bodily Injury Liability limits are insufficient to cover the loss. This coverage applies to accidents which occur within the U.S., its territories, and Canada.



Additional Personal Injury Protection - NY:

In addition to basic PIP required in New York, you may elect to add additional PIP coverage to your policy.



Optional Basic Economic Loss (OBEL) - NY:

OBEL provides $25,000 additional PIP coverage, but with more flexibility. Can be used for the following:
1) Additional Medical OR
2) Work Loss OR
3) Psychiatric, physical, or occupational therapy and rehabilitation.


Personal Injury Protection:

No-fault benefits in states that have enacted mandatory or optional no-fault Automobile Insurance coverages. PIP usually includes benefits for medical expenses, loss of work income, essential services, accidental death and funeral expenses.



Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage

This coverage pays to repair your vehicle if a "not at fault" accident occurs with an uninsured driver. Limits of this coverage can vary by state.



Medical Payments Coverage

An insurance company's promise to pay medical expenses for bodily injury, sickness, disease or death suffered in car accident while occupying a car or from having been struck by a motor vehicle.



Towing and Rental Coverage

Reimbursement for towing up to a limited amount each time a covered auto is disabled. This coverage does not apply to towing of a covered auto due to a parking violation. Rental coverage is the benefit that provides reimbursement for expenses incurred in renting a vehicle from a qualified rental agency while any insured owned vehicle is being repaired following a covered collision or other than collision (OTC) loss. Rental reimbursement is subject to an insurance company daily limit and a maximum benefit limit, review your insurance policy or call our office for more specific details.



Punitive Damage Coverage Exclusion

In consideration of a reduced premium, it is understood and agreed that the insurance afforded by this policy under Part A Liability Coverage shall not apply to payment of punitive or exemplary damages arising from accident(s) which occur while the motor vehicle(s) described in the policy or any other motor vehicle(s) are being operated by any person or entity who is otherwise entitled to coverage under this policy.




Other than Collision Deductible

Optional coverage which pays for damage to your car caused by incidents not paid for by collision coverage. Examples include fire, theft, vandalism, flood, or hail. Other than collision coverage is frequently required by a lender if you have a car loan. The deductible is the amount paid by the insured in the event of a claim.



Collision Deductible

Optional coverage which pays for damage to your car caused by contact with another car or object, or by rolling the car over. Collision coverage is frequently required by a lender if you have a car loan. The deductible is the amount paid by the insured in the event of a claim.

 

Vin Number:

You will find this 13 or 17 combination of letters and numbers on the registration or title for your vehicle(s). As an alternative, you can also find the Vehicle Identification Number on the front dashboard of your vehicle as you look through the windshield on the drivers side of the vehicle.

 

Lienholder:

At the time you purchased your vehicle, a lending institution may have extended credit for you to purchase your vehicle. This lending institution or lienholder holds a lien against your title until you have fulfilled your financial obligation. This lending institution will usually require that their name and address is listed on your auto insurance policy until your financial obligation is satisfied.

 

Additional Interest:

A lease is a contract through which an owner of a vehicle conveys the right to use its vehicle to another party the lessee, in a written agreement for a specified period of time for specified periodic payments. In the event you are leasing your vehicle, the lessor has a financial interest in your vehicle. The lessor will generally require that their name and address is added on your auto insurance policy under additional interest. You should check with your lessor or leasing company to see if they have minimum auto insurance coverage requirements that you should be aware of.

 

Grey Market Vehicles:

A vehicle that was manufactured for use in a country outside the United States but imported into the United States.

 

Safety Glass Coverage:

Coverage for the glass used in the windshield, doors and windows and the glass, plastic or other material used in the lights of a motor vehicle..

 

Affinity Group:

An additional discount may be available if the driver is a member of one of the affinity groups listed.

 

Current Occupation:

This number should reflect the total number of years that you have been working in this occupation/profession.

 

Car Loan Protection:

This is an optional coverage for new vehicles only.

 

Driver Training Discount:

This discount applies to each youthful operator under the age of 21 when "Satisfactory Evidence" is presented that such operator has successfully completed a driver education course meeting the following standards:

 

Additional Death Benefit Coverage:

Additional Death Benefit coverage of $3000 can be added to the Basic amount of $2000 for a total of $5000. This option is only available with additional Personal Injury Protection.

 

Stack Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage

Stacking uninsured and underinsured motorist bodily injury liability coverages, allows you to multiply the limits of either coverage by the number of vehicles on your policy.

 

Income Loss Coverage

Work Loss Benefits covers the loss of income up to the policy limit when the insured is unable to work due to an accident or illness.

 

Optional Personal Injury Endorsement

You may elect to exclude Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits for resident relatives.

 

Tort Option

Full Tort - With this option, you retain unrestricted rights to bring suit against the negligent party.

Limited Tort - For a reduced premium, this option allows you to still be able to recover all out-of-pocket medical and other expenses. However, you are not able to recover non-monetary damages or receive payments for pain and suffering unless injuries are defined as serious.

 

Extraordinary Medical Benefits

This coverage pays when medical and rehabilitation expenses exceed $100,000. It provides a maximum of $1 million of coverage. If you select the combined benefits option, you will receive the following coverages:
1. Medical Expenses ($100,000 limit)
2. Accidental Death ($25,000 limit)
3. Work Loss $50,000 limit)
4. Funeral Expenses ($2,500 limit)

 

Accidental Death Coverage

Coverage pays a death benefit in the event that injury resulting from a motor vehicle accident which causes death. If you select the combined benefits option, you will receive the following coverages:
1. Medical Expenses ($100,000 limit)
2. Accidental Death ($25,000 limit)
3. Work Loss $50,000 limit)
4. Funeral Expenses ($2,500 limit)

 

Funeral Benefits Coverage

Pays up to $2,500 if you or a family member dies as a result of an auto accident. If you select the combined benefits option, you will receive the following coverages:

Personal Injury Protection - MI

In order to choose excess coverage, you must have health insurance, work loss insurance or both through another carrier. This does not include Medicare or Medicare supplements.

You can choose Excess coverage only if both of the named insureds have primary health insurance or work loss coverage. This does not include Medicare or Medicare supplements.

 

Lienholder Deductible

For an additional premium per vehicle, a Lienholder Deductible may be added to any vehicle with a Lienholder and Physical Damage (Collision/Other than Collision) coverage, which would limit the deductible for the Lienholder's interest.

 

Vehicle Inspections

Before binding Physical Damage coverages, vehicles should be inspected by the Producer to verify that they are in fact the vehicles being insured and to check for and document existing damage at the Company's request.

Exceptions: If the vehicle is a new, unused vehicle purchased from a licensed dealer or leasing company within the 5 business days preceding the effective date of the policy, the inspection may be waived if proof is obtained. Acceptable proof is a bill of sale or dealer invoice. In addition, if prior Physical Damage coverage existed, there is no lapse in coverage between policies, and the deductible requested is not lower than their prior deductible, the inspection may be waived if proof is obtained in the form of a declaration page.

 

Expiration Date of Current Policy

Several companies use an insured's previous insurance coverage/history to provide a better, or discounted, insurance rate. Online Payment Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do online payments work?
A: We offer a service that will automatically (electronically) deduct your insurance payment directly from your checking account for each installment. Your payment will appear as an auto insurance deduction on your bank statement. There are no fees for this service.

Q: How do I know I am set up for online payments?
A: You will continue to receive your normal bill, but the bill will state that your payment will be charged to your account on a specified date. If this is stated on the bill you receive, there is no need to send in a payment as well. If this is not on your bill, make sure to continue to send in payments until your bill states that we will automatically deduct the money from your account.

Q: What is a Bank Routing number and where do I find it?
A: Each bank has a unique bank routing number that allows the Federal Reserve to identify your specific bank. This is the 9-digit number located in the lower left hand corner of your check.

Q: What is an Account Number and where do I find it?
A: This number identifies your specific checking account number at your bank. The account number is usually located in the right of your Bank Routing Number before or after the check number.

Minimum Acceptable Amount
